This single-fronted Victorian terrace was sensitively redeveloped to introduce qualities often missing in compact heritage homes: space, natural light, and connection to nature. In collaboration with LANDE Architects, the design integrates two strategically positioned courtyards, enabling a seamless interplay between indoor and outdoor zones. Extensive glazing frames green outlooks, while thoughtfully placed windows ensure every room benefits from borrowed light and garden views.

A first-floor green roof softens views over the surrounding urban rooftops, creating a verdant backdrop for the main bedroom and enhancing the sense of space in adjoining rooms.Tillage’s role encompassed site acquisition, finance and structuring, stakeholder engagement and management, planning, construction, and delivery — with a focus on preserving heritage character while elevating everyday liveability. The result is a carefully crafted residence that balances scale, materiality, and landscape to create a home of enduring quality.
